What DBA does

Useful enough to cite. Practical enough to use.

The Digital Business Index

The public ranking populates from U.S. Census data after the first successful data workflow. The score measures conditions relevant to people who can operate businesses from anywhere but still benefit from talent, connectivity and an entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Data initialization required. The repository ships without invented ranking values. Run the “Refresh data + deploy” GitHub Action after adding CENSUS_API_KEY; it will fetch Census data, calculate the index, generate the metro pages and remove this notice automatically.

Professional network

A directory built around actual operators.

Members can publish a professional profile with their company, specialties, location and independent web presence. Every public profile is reviewed before it appears in the directory.

There is no paid placement at launch and no implied certification. The goal is a useful, searchable map of people doing substantive work across the digital economy.

Founding principle

Build systems, not just campaigns.

DBA treats digital business as an operating discipline: acquisition, conversion, delivery, automation, retention, finance and measurement all have to work together.

01

Acquire

Reach the right market through durable channels rather than dependence on one platform.

02

Systemize

Turn repeated work into documented processes, automation and measurable operating systems.

03

Compound

Build owned audiences, reusable assets, customer relationships and data that become more valuable over time.
